Child support involves one parent providing financially to the other parent for the benefit of children.
Services Australia (Child Support) governs the child support payable by one parent to another in the absence of an alternate agreement between the parents.
The amount payable is calculated with reference to:
Sometimes there are special circumstances where the amount payable under the child support assessment is too much or too little. For example, if children attend private schooling, or if a child has special needs, or if the assessment does not correctly reflect one parent’s income.

Private agreements can also better support an individual child’s needs – for example, the paying parent may pay the children’s private school fees, extra-curricular activity costs and private health insurance.
We can discuss with you the options available to you and which best suits your circumstances.
